Prime Matter and Brass Token have announced The Chant will launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S only in Fall 2022, with no mention of the previously confirmed PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
The Chant takes the form of a third-person action-horror romp that takes place on a picturesque remote island, where the ‘dark side of spirituality breaks through the confines of normality. After a ritual chant goes dangerously awry, players will face off against a series of ethereal threats after a portal to The Gloom, a nightmare dimension, is unleashed upon the island.
This dimension preys on the anxieties and fears of others, which are then manifested as interdimensional critters. As such, The Chant combines traditional horror tropes with a sprinkle of psychedelia, “the likes of which has never been experienced before.”
