EA Motive Studio’s highly anticipated remake of the horror classic Dead Space will be launching on PS5 on January 27, 2023, announced the developer during its livestream today.
During the latest livestream hosted by Motive focusing on certain aspects of the remake, today’s having been on art, Motive also surprised fans with a release date.
According to the developers, just about two weeks ago they were able to complete their first full walkthrough of the game. A big milestone in the development process for any game, and a sign a project is nearing its end.
Motive also said that today’s stream will be the last time we see the game for a while, intending to show off a proper gameplay reveal sometime this coming October.
For now though, the studio will be “heads down” as it described today, working towards polishing the game further, and making sure that it is everything the team wants it to be.
“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves.” said Phillipe Duchame, senior producer on the remake in a press release to PSU.
“It’s been equally exciting to see players reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us. We’re making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and we’re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year.”
“We can’t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we’ve elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation.”
