Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it has shipped 19.3 million PS5 worldwide, having moved two million consoles during the fourth quarter of its finance year.
The format holder had previously targeted 14.8 million PS5s shipped during FY21, but ended up moving 11.5 million consoles. Given ongoing supply issues however, it’s probably not much of a surprise that it didn’t quite meet the target.
Elsewhere, Sony confirmed that it moved 100,000 PS4s during the three month period ended March 31, which means the system has now shipped a worldwide total of roughly 117 million.
Meanwhile, sales of first-party PS4 and PS5 games climbed by 84% during Q4, reaching 24.5 million in FY21 compared to 7.9 million the previous year.

The PS5 was released in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe, and other major territories. While the console sold well, it was plagued by supply issues that are continuing to this day, and while retailers do occasionally restock the system, they tend to sell out quickly.
