How will Netflix’s gaming service affect e-sports?

The days of having to run down to the video store to rent a movie or TV series are over. All that’s needed now is a device that supports streaming, an internet connection and a valid subscription to a streaming service.

Netflix is one of the world’s biggest streaming services and possibly the most popular of them all. The service is used in most places worldwide and is used by young and old alike. It offers lots of old and new films and TV series of various kinds. But now games are also available. Cool, isn’t it?

Will Netflix bet on e-sports?

It will probably be a while before Netflix gets a bigger grip on the market. While Netflix is known for revolutionising and dominating, it will probably be a while before they get a bigger hold in the gaming industry. They’ll certainly attract plenty of gamers looking for games that contribute to light pastimes. But whether they will impact e-sports and serious gamers awaits to be seen.

However, it is quite possible that in the future, Netflix will start to stream various types of tournaments, either live or in the post, or possibly both, in which case this could have a major impact on e-sports. Ten years ago, nobody thought e-sports would amount to much, but today it’s one of the most popular markets to bet on at top betting sites in India, like those found on Sportsbetting24.in. Instead of other platforms, Netflix could gather a large part of sports in one place, and it is even possible that they will offer the games on the same platform in the future.

For a TV platform considering entering the gaming market, esports is a natural stepping stone, as it combines video games with TV spectator sports. Unlike rivals such as Sky, Disney, Warner and Amazon, Netflix does not currently offer sports programming or have access to live sporting events. This means Netflix is losing out on the huge sports market.

Netflix has revolutionised a whole industry and could possibly do it again

Lots of different industries have been revolutionised in the last decade. Nowadays, we stream movies, TV series and other types of content rather than rent or buy. We can buy bitcoin and other digital currencies instead of traditional fiat currencies like Pound, Dollars or Euros. Much has happened, and more is happening at the time of writing, but even more will happen in the future.

Netflix has revolutionised an entire industry, even eliminating the previously existed approach. Few people rent or buy movies anymore, largely thanks to Netflix. Instead, you get access to every movie and TV series you could ever want at the click of a button.

But now they’re going to take it a step further and get into the games business as well. They have recently launched their very own gaming service.

With a valid account, you can play a whole range of games. However, the games are not nearly as advanced as those that can be bought for Playstation, for example. But as time goes by, this will probably change.
