New PlayStation Plus Rollout Dates Released

It was at the end of March this year that Sony finally unveiled the long rumoured “new” PlayStation Plus, with a three tier system, and access to a retro library at the highest tier.

Since that announcement, we’ve lacked further details as to what the service will include, but we now have specific dates as to when this new service will arrive.

It’ll launch first in select Asia markets (excluding Japan) on May 23, 2022, with other major markets are all set for June.

First it’ll be Japan on June 1, 2022, then the Americas on June 13, 2022, and lastly it’ll launch in Europe on June 22, 2022.

Along with the exact dates, the update on the PlayStation Blog added that more regions will have the Premium tier made available to them, as PlayStation extends the reach of their cloud services.

These new regions are Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Now that we have specific dates, we can expect to learn a lot more about what kinds of games are offered in this service, and how, before the end of next month.

While the new format for PlayStation Plus looks exciting, the big hang up has been the big unknown of what games will we be able to play, at these higher tiers.

Once we have a better understanding of that, it’ll be interesting to see how players respond, and if the higher tiers are popular.
