Speaking during its latest financial results, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that PS Plus memberships have hit 47.4 million, although this number is down slightly on the previous year.
In addition, monthly active users hit 106 million, which was down on FY20’s 109 million. However, given the impact of the coronavirus was far greater back in FY20, with more people staying at home playing games, the figure is bound to have fallen off a little.
Sony revealed during the same financial report that the PS5 has now shipped 19.3 million units worldwide.

Next month is a major turning point for PS Plus, as Sony will be relaunching its flagship online service as a three-tier package.
The lowest tier is essentially what PS Plus is right now, the mid-tier adds a wealth of extra titles to download similar to PS Now’s offering, while the final tier includes a host of retro games spanning PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP.
