Insomniac Games R&C Ratchet & Clank A Rift Apart Rift Apart SSD

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Could Only Happen On PS5 – Insomniac Games

Recently, Insomniac Games announced the newest Ratchet and Clank title during the reveal event for the PlayStation 5. However, now we get an even deeper look at the game. In an Insomniac Insight video, we are shown that the rift jumping from the announcement is actually happening in real-time; something not possible on a current or past generation console. Furthermore, the 3D audio, increased horsepower, and new DualSense controller all make Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart a true next-gen experience.

The ultra-fast SSD allows Ratchet to jump between full worlds without load screens and in the blink of an eye. This super fast speed allows Ratchet to pull himself forward a few feet or across space in a way that just wasn’t possible before.

As you rift jump from world to world SSD loads them in in a blink of an eye as load times are a thing of the past with the PS5. In the trailer, this is happening in real-time.

The video also talks about the massive horsepower of the PS5 allows for more full and rich worlds never before seen in a Ratchet and Clank game. Worlds that feel real and lived in is what Insomniac strives to build. These worlds feel alive, and from what we saw from the announcement, this is the best looking we have ever seen the series.

Finally, Insomniac shows how excited they are for the DualSense controller. With haptic feedback triggers, players can feel the difference between shooting one shot from a shotgun or shooting both by how far the trigger is pulled. This in tandem with the new 3D audio of the PS5 will make Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart the most immersive game in the series.

We still have many questions about the PS5 and Ratchet and Clank. From how much will the PS5 cost to just who is the mysterious new female Lombax introduced in the video. All of these questions will be answered in time and we can’t wait to find out more.
