Mossmouth, the developer behind Spelunky 2, has revealed that Cross-Play support for PS4 will be coming to the game in 2021, with the game’s online multiplayer update still being worked on for those playing on Sony’s last-generation console.
Cross Play will be joined by a number of other quality of life improvements during the first half of next year, while Online Arena Mode will continue to be worked on after the Cross Play feature has been added.

What’s next? Work will continue for the rest of the year and into next year to fix bugs with online multiplayer, as well as solve some of the unique design problems that have come up (hence, why we’re calling this a “public beta” even though it’s possible to play through the entire game online). As always, it’s your support and your feedback that makes this possible at all.
