PlayStation Plus October 2017: Free PS Plus titles incoming

[UPDATE] PS Plus October games announced.

It’s an exciting week for PlayStation gamers as Sony prepares to announce the PS4 free game line-up for all players with a PS Plus membership for October 2017.

Due to go live on the PlayStation Network (PSN) on September 3, players will be able get their hands on the PS Plus October 2017 games, and download a selection of PS4 games for free, as well as PS3 and PS Vita titles.

Every month, Sony reveals the PlayStation Plus October 2017 line-up around the same time. Expect the free PlayStation Plus deals for subscribers to be announced on Wednesday, 27 September at approximately 4-6pm BST.

Predictions for the PlayStation Plus October free games, include Mad Max, Resident Evil Zero and Assassin’s Creed Rogue, though there’s currently no leaks from Sony on the line-up for October as yet.

And, don’t forget you can still get your hands on the PlayStation Plus September games. The titles differ slightly between North America and Europe.

Here’s the European line-up:

  • inFamous: Second Son – PS4
  • Child of Light – PS4
  • Truck Racer – PS3
  •  Handball 2016 – PS3
  • We Are Doomed – PS Vita
  •  Hatoful Boyfriend – PS Vita
  •  RIGS – PSVR

PlayStation Plus members in North America get Strike Vector Ex for PS4 instead of Child of Light.

Upcoming PSN games this week on the store include FIFA 18, Danganronpa V3 and SteamWorld Dig 2, which will be available starting on 26 September.

There’s also a decent PSN Store Flash Sale in the US with discounts up to 80% on a variety of PS4 games.

We’re also expecting Sony to launch PS4 update 5.0 very soon.

Invited players have been testing out the next big firmware patch for a few weeks now, and despite some issues with PS4 update 4.74, which kicked some players out of the beta, users have been enjoying a host of new features, including:

  •  New friend list management
  •  Broadcast feature updates
  •  Message improvements
  •  Notification updates
  •  Quick Menu updates

A release date for PS4 firmware update 5.0 has yet to be made official, but we’re firmly expecting it to be available to download for everyone in October.

In other PS4 news, there were plenty of exciting announcements at the Tokyo Game Show this week.

At TGS 2017, we saw the reveal of Left Alive with a new trailer, new Monster Hunter World gameplay, and saw a Final Fantasy 9 PS4 release land on the PlayStation Store.
