Sony has announced that a PSVR 2, a next-generation VR system is in development for PS5, bringing a host of new features and improvements to the medium.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, this new VR system will offer dramatic leaps in performance and interactivity. This new system won’t launch in 2021, but it will enhance everything about the headset and connect to the PS5 via a single cord.
This new system will also introduce a brand new VR controller, incorporating some of the key features found in the DualSense, bringing a new generation of VR experiences. This announcement serves as an early reveal for players and development has already begun working on new worlds to explore.
This announcement is huge and came out of nowhere after months of rumors about a new VR system. As for what we can expect game-wise, we will have to wait and see and we are likely still a year or two away from a full reveal.
