Rumor – Resident Evil 8 PSVR Support Is Coming, New Details Revealed Via Test Event

Fresh details on the upcoming Resident Evil 8 – aka Resident Evil Village – have surfaced via an alleged testing event, revealing that Capcom is planning PSVR support for the upcoming survival horror title. However, it won’t be announced until ‘Sony is ready.’

Resident Evil 8 PSVR Reportedly In Works

According to Biohazard Declassified, the test session for Resident Evil Ambassadors featured encounters with the game’s regular enemies, which feature ‘pale, almost rotten skin, with tattoos on their foreheads and hands.’

Some of them speak in a distorted foreign language and are able to wield weapons such as daggers, swords, axes and spears. Those that are unarmed attempt to bite the player similar to the zombies in Resident Evil 3, with button-mashing reducing the damage you take.

The location appears to be from within the castle seen in the village, with the player required to locate a key on the upper levels in order to open a large door downstairs. There’s also talk of a boss fight against a ‘witch’ enemy known as Olga, who is able to create a swarm of insects at Ethan when she spots him.

Finally, there’s a new trailer expected in August, which ties in with what we’ve heard previously, and another returning character will also one revealed along with ‘another twist.’

Resident Evil 8 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X in 2021.
