Paradox Interactive has announced that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been delayed out of its 2021 window, with developer Hardsuit Labs no longer leading development of the highly anticipated project.
Speaking during its 2020 year-end report, the company confirmed that it has “started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game.” The Twitter account for the game revealed that the publisher concluded decided that “a change is needed, and, as a result, more development time is required.”
Speaking of Hardsuit Labs, Paradox added: The studio has done a tremendous job in laying the foundations for the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate their contribution to Bloodlines 2.”
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was originally scheduled to launch in Q1 2020 before being pushed back to later in the year. The game was later delayed to 2021, around which time the game’s Narrative Lead and Creative Director departed the project.
As a result of today’s developments, Paradox has revealed that preorders the game are no longer being taken. “As soon as we can, we’ll let you know what the future development team of Bloodlines 2 will look like.”
