Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed during its Q2 FY21 earnings call that PS Plus subscribers have hit 47.2 million worldwide.
This figure is a significant rise on the 46.3 million membership figure recorded during Sony’s Q1 earnings earlier in the year. Back then, the subscriber count had dropped from 47.6 million during Q4 FY20, so it seems that things are on the rise once again.
Elsewhere, Sony also recorded 104 million monthly active users, and as previously reported, confirmed that PS5 has now reached 13.4 million shipments worldwide.

PS Plus first launched back in 2010 during the PS3-era, at which point Sony was not charging for online gaming. Free games have been part and parcel of the PS Plus experience ever since, although the likes of PS3 and PS Vita titles have since given way to PS4 and PS5 freebies.
