DualSense PC Users Can Update Firmware Without A PS5

The DualSense controller is now able to receive firmware updates via a PC without the need to connect to a PS5 console, Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced.

This is thanks to a new Windows software known as Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller, which is now available to grab via the PlayStation website. With this, you can plug in your DualSense pad via a USB to download the controller’s latest firmware update from Sony’s servers.

Prior to this, the DualSense controller could only be updated by connecting it to a PS5. Now, it’s possible for PC users to keep their pad updated without even owning a PS5, which is handy for those who own the controller just to play PC ports of former PlayStation-exclusive titles.
