BioWare is keeping tight-lipped on the plot details for the new Mass Effect game, but a new N7 Day lithograph being sold by the company has suggested that it may feature the return of a major character.
Yep, if we’re to believe a product description for the lithograph (which has since been changed by BioWare, but not before being spotted YouTube user MrHulthen), Commander Shepard will be returning.
While Shepard and the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.
The threat of the Reapers might have been ended, but at great cost including Earth itself. While the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.

Could Shepard make a comeback? It’s possible, although it would have to depend on what ending BioWare choose to go with after Mass Effect 3.
Only one outcome, which sees the Commander opting to destroy the Reapers (along with all AI and machines), results in Shepard surviving to the end. All the others have him/her sacrifice themselves for the galaxy, and you need a high Total Military Strength to ensure they survive the ‘Destroy’ ending too.
The new Mass Effect games is currently in the works for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
